Caia Roberts lost her job as a police detective and the same day discovered her boyfriend cheated on her. She saw an add for matching Earth women with alien mates and decided to check it out. The Starry Eyed Agency that does the matching looked most unsavory, but Caia decided to give them a chance.

She gets matched with the gorgeous King Cerar'ik of Apraxi. On the way to Apraxi she is escorted by his brother, Prince Axar'oq, the ridiculously hot sexy man she is unreasonably attracted to. They wind up in bed together and after a health check on the Apraxi, they discover that she is already pregnant. Complications, complications, and this is mild compared to what happens next.

This was a delightful bit of escapism that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I purchased this book. It was not an ARC. The opinions are my own without coercion. I was pleased to rate this five stars.

Star Baby Science Fiction Alien/BBW Romance edition by Juno Wells Luna Cassini Romance eBooks Reviews

This book has a great deal of what I like in a Science Fiction Romance intergalactic dating service, artificial intelligence, aliens ....

However, the tone balance in the book is off. It is high camp in one moment and then tackling racism and police violence in another. This can of tone switching can be pulled off but it isn't here. The high camp just feels silly and I end of doubting the character of the heroine who would trust a dating agency acting so strangely.

I will also admit the switch of heroes isn't my cup of tea. There is good writing here but it is uneven.
I loved the story. It was a real page turner from the beginning. Mystery, action, heat...it was all there. There were a couple of things that I did not care for. One is this story desperately needs an editor. Misspelled words, missing words, extra words, the wrong tense used. That is something that highly frustrates me. The other thing that made me grate my teeth is the use of the words "crotch" and "lady bits" when referring to a woman's sex. that just almost ruined the moment for me. This might sound rather petty, and for most, it might not bother them at all, but it just drove me crazy. I would recommend this book. Definite great read, just ready yourself for the grammatical errors.
I am a big sci fi romance fan and am always looking for new good reads. This is the first book I have read by either author and I was very disappointed. The plot was uneven and couldn't commit itself to being one type of story or another. One minute, things look serious, the next, it is like some cheesy b-movie plot. The heroine was so shallow and two dimensional. Her bobble-headed rambling and bull-in-a-china-shop handling of what could otherwise have been an interesting investigation had me shaking my head over and over. There was nothing in the story that even remotely convinced me that ther two main characters were meant to be together.
The cover(even though the woman isn't BBW) and the action scenes are the best part of this novel.

I wanted to like this more than I did.

The serious parts were written okay but then there would be some oddball scene or dialogue that shook me out of the story. For a police officer, the h is very blase about her situation. It is like she is depressed so she doesn't really care what happens. There were many spots during the plot where I was disappointed by her. Then I was disappointed by him. It does get better on the planet with an investigation but still felt disjointed.

I can't recommend this nor do I want to read it again.

I really enjoyed this book. It has a good storyline and the characters are interesting. Some science fiction is weird but this was not that way. This is a keeper!
